To go in Russia is not so easy as you can think: you should get a VISA, save a lot of money for the flight tickets and organize everything with a quite good amount of time (something that European e-dancers are not always used to do). Thanks to Singa and all the organization of Move&Prove International, all the bureaucratic matters looks easy and easier.

For me was the second time in Russia, in 2016 I made my first trip with the Aosta Free Moves team and I was totally amazed by the quality of this contest, inside and outside the cypher. Once all the papers were ready, the 1st of December (my birthday) I started my trip to Saint Petersburg.

As I was the only Italian to go in Move&Prove World Finals, due to the leg injury happened to Nico the weekend before in an Experimental tournament in Brescia, I choose to departure from Verona (a city near my hometown). My first stage was Verona to Munich, cause the Lufthansa flights always get a plane change in their homeland, Germany.

After waiting some hours for my final flight to Saint Petersburg, I departure from Germany and I arrived in Russia in the late afternoon. Thanks to the professional Move&Prove organization, two E-Girls, Alisia and Eva, were waiting me at the airport and helped me to arrive at the hostel by bus; That’s what I call a comfortable situation for the foreing dancers.

I was finally back in Saint Petersburg, around the cold Russian weather, but really excited to be at the Move&Prove World Finals and for the first time as an Electroisthefuture.com reporter.

When we arrived near the hostel we met on the road my team-mates of LRC squad, Milliard and Fiona from Paris. They were going to see the projection of “Elektro Mathematrix” the electro-themed movie of Blanca Li’s dancers, so I joined them and with all my bags I start to walk in the direction of the “movie place”.

Arrived at the place, I met a lot of Russian, Spanish, Romania and other local dancers, the organizers, Miel (the judge of the event) and also the Mexican e-dancer Pulga (winner of 2015 Vertifight World with 8PEM). Was the first time I saw the “Elektro Mathematrix” movie, is always wrong to judge a motion picture watching it just one time, but I can say it was quite good. It mix funny scenes with the best choreos of Blanca Li’s show Elektro-Kif and except the strange “dialogues” you can hear in particular in the first 15 minutes of the movie, all the other things are a quite good on-screen representation of Electro dance (and to see Youval as school janitor just makes the film worth watching).

The Move&Prove weekend was already started, and after the movie, I had finally time to rest a little bit at the hostel were I met other two Mexicans, Rozen & Roman. Then the first party of the event was underway: the Move-On party.
